cookie policy

Draft — pending legal review.

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. knyt uses as few of them as it can: the ones that make the site work, one that remembers your language, and — only if you say yes — two that count visits.

The table below lists every cookie knyt sets, what it is for and how long it stays.

Necessary and optional

Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in, carry confirmation messages across a page change, and remember the cookie choices you have made. They cannot be switched off, because the site does not work without them. The language cookie is functional: it remembers the language you picked.

Everything else is optional and stays off until you turn it on.

Analytics

Our usage statistics are collected on our own server, not by a script running in your browser, and nothing at all is collected until you accept analytics cookies. We count page views and a few key events — sign-up, log in, newsletter sign-up — and pass them to Google Analytics 4. The two analytics cookies hold a random visitor id and a visit id; no name, no email address.

Withdraw your consent and both cookies are deleted immediately.

No advertising

knyt sets no third-party advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no social-media trackers. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Changing your mind

Change your choices further down this page at any time, or in the consent bar at the bottom of the site. You can also delete and block cookies in your browser settings — blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you from being able to sign in.
