These terms are the agreement between you and [Company legal name] ("knyt", "we") for knyt.studio and the knyt app. You accept them when you create an account.
knyt is a tool for knitters. You import knitting patterns you already own — as PDFs or as photos — and knyt turns them into something you can knit from directly: a step-by-step reader, projects with row counters and notes, and calculators such as gauge.
knyt does not sell knitting patterns and is not a marketplace.
You need to be at least 16 to have a knyt account. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before you sign up.
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at hello@knyt.studio if you think somebody else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. One person, one account.
knyt is free of charge during the launch period. There are no paid plans yet, and we do not ask for card details.
When subscriptions arrive we will show you the price, what it includes and the terms before you buy anything, and nothing is charged until you actively choose a plan. Existing accounts hear about it in good time. See the refund policy for what happens after a purchase.
Everything you upload stays yours. We claim no rights in your patterns, your projects or your notes. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your files, process them so the reader can display them, and back them up.
Import only patterns you have the right to use — ones you bought, were given, or made yourself. Do not upload material you have no right to. Your imports are private to you: we do not publish them, share them with other users, or redistribute them.
If a rights holder tells us a pattern is on knyt without permission, we may remove it, and in serious or repeated cases close the account.
Do not break the law, do not try to break into or overload the service, do not scrape it, do not resell access to it, and do not use it to pass other people's patterns around.
During the launch period knyt is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it up and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and AI extraction of a pattern can get things wrong — check the original pattern whenever something looks odd.
We may change or remove features. Material changes are announced with reasonable notice, and if a change is to your disadvantage you can stop using knyt and delete your account.
You can delete your account whenever you like, from the account area. Deletion has a seven-day cooling-off period, after which your data and your imported patterns are erased. Export your data as JSON first if you want to keep it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or is used for something illegal. Except in serious cases we tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under Swedish law, and nothing limits our liability for death, personal injury, or damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
Beyond that, and as far as the law allows: knyt is not liable for indirect loss, lost work or lost profit, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim. During the free launch period that amount is zero — which is the reason to keep your own copy of the patterns you import.
Swedish law applies. If we cannot sort a disagreement out between us, you can as a consumer take it to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN, arn.se), whose decisions we follow. Consumers in other EU countries can turn to their national dispute-resolution body, or to the European Consumer Centre in their country. Otherwise disputes are heard by Swedish courts.
